  1. The most impressive aspect of Leonardo's work is how advanced most of his work was during his time. Not only was he a great artist but he was also a great at scientific breakthroughs, he was able to create a robot with just gears and springs. I think the fact that he was also an artist helped him with the many machines he created because most of his work needed some sort of creativity mind to be created.

  2. The most impressive aspect of Leonardo's skill set was his ability to paint Jesus and St. John on the second copy of The Last Supper without any under-drawings. All of the other apostles who were painted by his pupils had them, except those two figures.

  3. The most impressive aspect of Leonardo's work is his ability to emit multiple emotions at the same time all in one painting. He had chosen the most dramatic scene to paint for "The Last Supper," because he wanted to bring it to life by showing action of drama within seconds of that very moment. Every person in that painting was shown doing something different, like waking up, screaming, interrogating. He had the ability to elicit multiple features in that painting alone.

    1. Yes i too found it cool that he ven scrutinized new methods of painting, in particular use of a vanishing point, because they took away from the livelyness of the images being painted.

  4. The most impressive aspect of Leonardo's personality is his ambition to portray reality in his painting. His ambition led him to take a different path from his predecessors and leave Florence in order to realize his vision. It led him to challenged a new way to paint figures and eventually overcome the drawback of a fresco and linear perspective. The ability of "The Last Supper" to convey a variety of emotions to the audience all within one painting is the result of his commitment toward portraying a real life in a painting.

  5. What intrigues me most about Leonardo's works is the intricate detail paid to all of his productions. Whether it spiritual, animal, sculpture, painting and even invention. Particularly, I love the muscle and softness in his works. They appear realistic as if they would give to the touch and emanate warmth.

  6. The most impressive aspect of Leonardo's work was how advanced he was as an artist. While everyone in Florence was using Tempra paint, he chose to perfect oil painting. He was able to learn and master the emotions in a painting better than his own teacher. Leonardo also invented a war machine inspired by a turtle's shell. The machine Leonardo conceptualized was actually created and used 400 years after, during the fist World War, called Leonardo's Tank.

  7. The most impressive aspect of Leonardo's work was how he was able to use oil mixed with pigments. With this technique, he was able to show more brighter colors that matched his style. In his works, he liked to show a lot of emotion, which started with the Adoration of Magi to the Last Supper.

  8. I like how awestruck he was with the earth and solar system. Its on the same level of how michelangelo was in love with god but this time its with scientific theory. I found it amazing that he had so much knowledge about how the universe works when he didn't even have basic technologies that we have used in recent years to confirm his theories. Truly a brilliant brain.

  9. Leonardo was an apprentice of an artist but he picked up numerous skills from the people around him. He didn't just solely focus on arts but developed interests and knowledge about chemistry, mechanics, carpentry and a keen interest in the study of the human body.

  10. The most impressive aspect of Leonardo Da Vinci's work is the amount of work and detail it went into creating everything. The triple barrel cannon and the fighting vehicle were both so precise. It fascinated me how advanced Leonardo was for his time and how he even made mistakes in some of his work on purpose just so he would not get copied. The ability to come up with so many inventions is incredible. His artistic ability is amazing and everyone will always know him as the guy who painted Mona Lisa but In my opinion his scientific breakthroughs are way more impressive. He was an engineer looking into the future.

  11. It was a struggle for Leonardo to be included in his father's social settings because of his lack of education, however when he was accepted by one painter, he showed how much talent he already possessed because of how vivid and soft his images were. He also discovered a new form of paint, oil paint, which produced completely different and brighter colors than the flat colors artists were still using. I found his artistic skills impressive because of the colors he produced and the stories he told within the images he created.

  12. I think Leonardo's innovative ideas and processes are worth talking about. I think that his determination to be different from the other artists before him and of his time helped him advance and develop his craft. He had the ability to convey multiple emotions in one piece. In my Art History class, we review some of the Archaic period’s sculptures that had very simple features and geometric-esque posture and when moving into Greek art, emotion and age became more developed in similar sculptures as well.
